What next?

"It's tempting to lump people like us under the media label "survivalists" but it's not accurate.  While there are some who stockpile guns and mutter about a coming 'revolution' in America, that's not my outlook.  Instead, I expect what will show up will be more like massive systemic failure when some imprecise threshold is crossed when the 'N'th' person realizes that paper money is no more than a promise, that America's core manufacturing jobs have been stolen by globalist profiteers, and we've elected ourselves politicos who are running the excess consumption version of a feedlot." (George Ure)

The culture of endless consumption is falling down. If we can get past the culture of the global consumer, we can stop creating debt, we can stop burning the worlds oil, we can help the earth regenerate, and get human beings back to being humans.

But what to do? This transition is already in progress, none of the "rescue" plans have any chance of stopping this fundamental change in how we must live. The best course is to embrace the change and learn how to make it work for us.

So We are creating an intentional community, designed to support the overall transition from global consumers to local producers.

We promote balancing and enjoying these five aspects of life: Physical, Social, Mental, Artistic, and Spiritual. In addition we are developing a plan called the "Community Replicator". This is a shared space that can be used to create the tools and devices needed to support the community. The eventual idea is for the entire Synctuarie community to replicate, budding off new shoots that can create new models of living locally.

This is a work in progress, and workers are needed. If you would like to be part of this creation, please contact us. If you would like to support the creation of this Community less directly, Please consider making a donation.

We hope to create a non-profit group soon. Our goal is to use this to promote a way of looking at human life and our place in the world. This is not "the way" to anything, but it is a framework for talking about the journey. Humans are motivated by a complex mix of drives, and we have created a framework to talk about the forces that create our lives as they are.

Our observation is that life is best when these competing "centers of gravity" each get a balanced share of our energy. We are also working at finding the balance between the new and the old, the right amount of high tech, with the right amount of low tech. We are  finding how to live well while being lighter on the earth.

Please help us create this community to deal with the great transition.
